Nike+ FuelBand SE Available At Apple Store One Day Early

Nike’s second-generation offering to the FuelBand range of wearable hardware has gone on sale through Apple’s Online Store. Nike officially announced the FuelBand SE last month with the intention being to compliment the first-generation FuelBand with a more feature extensive successor. The wearable was originally intended to go one sale on November 6th, but it seems to have been made available early in a partnership with Apple and their sales channels.

Users looking to get in on the FuelBand SE bandwagon can checkout immediately through the Apple.com website. The in-site checkout options is also suggesting that consumers should be able to set the device for an in-store pickup, starting from today. It’s currently unconfirmed if this is a case of Apple’s online sales team getting a little ahead of themselves as the Nike+ website still stipulates that the FuelBand SE is available solely for pre-order through their site.

In terms of aesthetics and external visual appearance, the SE model looks pretty much identical to the first-gen FuelBand. Nike has taken the liberty of adding a little splash of color to the wristband allowing users to choose from either yellow, pink, red or black. Probably the most notable change to the device is the integration of Bluetooth 4.0 LE, which not only offers a number of new and beneficial features to health conscious users but also significantly saves battery life due to the efficient power properties of the protocol.

FuelBand SE features the same core principles as the original offering. The hardware will track how much, how often and how intensely the wearer moves through the day and log all of that information for analysis directly through the free-of-charge accompanying mobile app. The FuelBand SE keeps users up to date with real-time progress directly through the LED display as well as having an inclusive clock mode that can be activated with the click of a button on the strap.

In addition to making the FuelBand SE available to purchase early, Nike has also pushed out some improvements to the mobile app. Additional customization options are now available alongside improvements to the NikeFuel points system which makes the whole idea a lot more competitive for users. The Nike+ FuelBand SE is currently showing as available on the Apple website in a variety of sizes for $149.95.
