“the reason tmobile hasnt got the iphone has nothing to do with the speed of their internet, but the fact that tmobiles spectrum runs a different frequency signal than at&t, the iphone is not built to support this frequency and thus the data seems slower. however seeing as tmobiles signal frequency is what all cellular providers are moving toward across the globe im sure apple will build their new iphones to support this frequency.”

Wrong. The REAL reason is because Apple and AT&T have an exclusive agreement making them the ONLY carrier for the iPhone in the USA.

ATT and T-Mobile are both GSM carriers, and they both sell phones that run on the same frequencies. US uses 850Mhz and 1900Mhz, whereas the rest of the world uses 900Mhz and 1800Mhz. Nearly all ATT and T-Mobile phones operate on all four frequencies, meaning that you can use the devices anywhere in the world, as well as on either the ATT or T-Mobile networks in the US. The thing that prevents this from happening by swapping SIMs is that the phone may be locked to only work on one network or the other. I have unlocked my ATT mobile phones (after 3-6 months, I called ATT Customer Support with an unlock request, and they provided the codes). Now I can take my ATT phone anywhere and swap in a SIM, whether it is a T-Mobile SIM, an Orange Mobile SIM, or a Ghana Telecom SIM, and use the device anywhere in the world.The question is whether ATT will unlock an iPhone in the same way. After all, as others have commented, in other parts of the world, competing mobile carriers in the same country do sell the iPhone, so either they are unlocked when purchased, or each carrier locks them to their particular SIM. But the fact that they can be used on various provider networks around the world is proof that the iPhone is a world phone and can be used on ANY GSM network. Again, the only issue is to unlock a US phone from the ATT SIM so that another provider’s SIM can be used.-rb

just read how sick would it be if like the entire front of the iphone 4g was touch screen. not a single inch not touch screen. all my friends and i think thats a great idea. post what you think. it would be better for vids, gaming, pics, youtube, internet and mostly everything else.

What would be the point of a iphone for a verizon cdma network?? You couldnt make calls and surf at the same time…..you lose the versatility of the product. Well, lets hope they make one anyway,people jump ship …… freeing up data space and increasing the speed of at t even more……
