New Olloclip 2x Telephoto Lens For iPhone Zooms In For More High Quality Photos

Photography is a big thing for many iPhone users. Thanks to its ability to take some of the best photos possible with a smartphone, the iPhone 5 is perhaps the world’s most popular photo-taking device, and with good reason. It also means that the App Store is full of interesting photography apps, and was also the reason that Instagram took off so quickly, leading to a huge buyout by Facebook.

It’s not just Apple’s digital store that has seen iPhone photography take hold; its physical stores are also home to plenty of photography related wares, with the Olloclip for iPhone arguably the most popular accessory out there, which we’ve come across, at least.

Offering three lenses that can be attached to an iPhone or iPod touch – a macro lens, a fisheye lens and a wide-angle lens – the Olloclip has always had one lens missing from its stable, and that’s a telephoto lens.

Thankfully that has now been corrected after the firm released its first 2x telephoto lens, priced at $99. Well, there are two lenses if we’re being honest – one for the iPhone 5 and the other for older iPhone 4 and 4S models. The last two generation iPod touches are also supported by that model, also.

Buyers will not just receive their new telephoto lens, though. Included in that price is a circular polarization lens, or CPL, that can be used with Olloclip’s fisheye and wide-angled lenses as well as the new offering. This lens blocks unwanted light when rotated, making it possible to take photos that closer reflect what the human eye would see in the same situation and reduces glare.

The new telephoto lens can be bought from the Apple Store later this month, and Best Buy stores in the United States beginning this August. Photography fans and iPhone enthusiasts alike will no doubt want to be amongst the first to get their hands on the new accessory, and it’s sure to be popular once it begins to filter into the supply chain.

Also, if you already have an Olloclip accessory at hand, be sure to download the Olloclip Camera app for iPhone to make sure those wide-angle / zoomed up photos come out perfect at all costs. It’s free, so there’s really no hard in downloading it. Really.
