More Details On iPhone X Clone Doogee V Revealed

We have been hearing of the Doogee V on and off for a few weeks now, and we have been treated to renders of the device by notorious leaker Evan Blass, confirming again that we can expect more phones in 2018 that come with an iPhone X-like notch.

Of course, Apple wasn’t the only company to offer a phone with a notch at the top, but it was most certainly the first to sell one in any meaningful numbers. Sorry, Essential Phone.

The Doogee V has a lot to be interested in, beyond that notch. It looks like an iPhone X to some degree in that it does not have any physical Home button on the front of the device, and there is a vertical camera arrangement around the back, although this one is centered unlike Apple’s.

There’s no fingerprint sensor around the rear either, again, like the iPhone X. However, this phone does actually have a fingerprint sensor; it’s just hidden beneath the display in a way both Apple and Samsung have been rumored to have worked on in the past. It’s likely that we will see more phones borrow that approach this year too, and if it means I can see the back of fingerprint sensors that nobody can reach – Samsung, I am looking at you – then I’m are very much all for it.

We don’t yet know when the Doogee V will arrive, or what it will cost when it does, although given the Chinese brand’s past form, it’s likely to be fairly inexpensive. That’s good, in a way, but don’t expect a premium feel or top-notch (sorry, I couldn’t resist!) internals. The phone is said to have an even cheaper version in the works as well!

It’s also debatable whether the phone will look anything like its renders, with the firm also having a history of releasing devices that simply do not live up to their press shots.

We should know more when Doogee takes the wraps off of the V on February 27th.
