Popular smartphone accessory maker Mophie is at the forefront when it comes to battery packs for the iPhone 5/5s, or iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. And now it is taking things up a notch by updating its “Juice Pack Dock” with support for Apple’s latest handsets – iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. What the dock basically does is; charges your handset and the Mophie Juice Pack case it is housed in at the same time. Confused? Let us explain.
Mophie makes a number of cases for iPhones that basically have an embedded external battery, thus doubling your device’s battery life since the case itself continues to “charge” your iPhone until it runs out of juice. Only then the iPhone’s native battery comes into play. The Juice Pack Dock addresses a fundamental problem with this solution; you need to take the phone out of the case if you want to dock it.
The accessory basically lets you place your iPhone in a dock while it’s still housed in the Mophie Juice Pack case. It may seem like a very restricted solution, but the fact is, Mophie’s offerings are the most used ones, so it makes sense. The dock itself is built out of high quality materials to give it a premium feel, and comes in flavors for iPhone 5, iPhone 5s, and has now been updated for iPhone 6, 6 Plus as we mentioned earlier. Charging is done through metal links on the dock that come in contact with the corresponding ones on the Juice Pack, and works flawlessly.
The new Mophie Juice Pack Dock is available in black color, and is being sold by the company starting at $49.95. This new version of the dock is compatible with iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 5s, 5c and 5.
