macOS 10.13.1 Beta 5 Now Available To Download

macOS 10.13.1 High Sierra beta 5 is available to download now for developers. The release of beta 5 comes only a few days after the company seeded beta 4 of macOS 10.13.1.

Currently available for members of Apple Developer Program only, it’s only a matter of time before it’s made available to registered members of Apple Beta Software Program as well.

So what’s new in macOS 10.13.1? Well, in general, macOS 10.13.1 brings in hundreds of new and redesigned emojis just like in iOS 11.1 and watchOS 4.1, as well as bringing the critical patch for KRACK WPA2 WiFi vulnerability. Apart from all this, macOS 10.13.1 is mainly a minor bug fix update which brings fixes, security patches and under-the-hood performance improvements to overall improve the experience of using macOS on Macs.

As for what’s new in today’s beta 5 seed compared to beta 4? Well, if a one digit change in build number is anything to go by, then it seems like beta 5 has been released just to fix a last-minute showstopper bug before Apple makes macOS 10.13.1 available to all general consumers with compatible Macs capable of running High Sierra.

If you are already running a previous pre-release beta seed of macOS 10.13.1, you can grab today’s beta 5 seed as an OTA update from the Updates tab section in the Mac App Store.

If you are new to installing betas of macOS on Macs, head over to developer.apple.com or beta.apple.com to get started. As mentioned earlier, we will let you know as soon as Apple makes today’s beta 5 seed available to public beta testers. Stay tuned for more.
