The LG eXpo gives me the impression that Microsoft stuffed them around in the design phase.

It is running the Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system, which is famous for not being aware of finger multi-touch, instead requiring an old fashioned stylus pen to operate. Microsoft has promised a new operating system called Windows Mobile 7, which will apparently be fully multi-touch. But WM7 is running late, like all Microsoft products do.

Back to LG. The eXpo has no internal slot to hold a stylus pen. It looks like the designers were expecting to get WM7, which doesn't need a stylus. But instead they got the older WM6.5, possibly because WM7 is late. The designers have added a stylus as an afterthought, as an external device that can't be housed internally in the eXpo.

Instead, the LG eXpo's stylus comes in a lipstick container, separate to the phone. You must carry it separately to the phone, in your pocket or in a handbag. I can't help thinking that Microsoft's lateness with the next Windows Mobile 7 OS has caused this curious feature.
