HTC’s “Sense” is one of the top manufacturer skins on Android and for good reason: while some call it bloated, it is undoubtedly one of the most powerful skins of the bunch. Rooting and flashing different tweaks enhances Sense but no tweak enhances HTC Sense like developers j4n87’s (co-developed by richmondo & m0narx) “LeeDroid Tweaks”.
LeeDroid Tweaks lets you customize your status bar, lockscreen, launcher, system settings and a whole lot more. You can read its full list of features by checking out the XDA thread and then follow our step by step guide on how to install it on your supported HTC device.
DISCLAIMER: Redmond Pie will not be held responsible if you lose data or your device gets damaged in the following of this guide. Proceed at your own risk.
Your HTC device must be rooted, have ClockworkMod Recovery flashed and on a Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich-based ROM. LeeDroid’s tweaks has only been tested on a handful of ICS-based ROMs, so ensure that the tweaks work on your ROM by reading the FAQs in the official thread of LeeDroid Tweaks for each device.
Step 1: Download the .zip file of LeeDroid Tweaks for your HTC device:
Step 2: Transfer the .zip file to your device. Place it directly under /sdcard directory so that it becomes easy to access in Step 5.
Step 3: Shut down your device.
Step 4: Press and hold a specific combination of buttons to boot into ClockworkMod (CWM) Recovery. This combination is different for different devices, so please search for your device’s combination using the search engine of your choice.
Step 5: Take a nandroid backup. This will come handy later on if you find issues with LeeDroid’s Tweaks and wish to revert to current set-up.
Step 6: Once inside CWM, navigate to install zip from sdcard > choose zip from sdcard and select the file you transferred to your device in Step 2.
Step 7: After flashing, go back to main menu and select reboot system now.
If you followed the steps correctly, your device will boot into the same ROM as before, but with LeeDroid’s amazing set of tweaks on top.
