Rumor: Apple To Launch Glossy Jet White Finish For iPhone 7 And iPhone 7 Plus

You know that Jet Black iPhone 7 that everyone loves the look of so much? Well, it may get some competition at the top of the wishlist pile if a new rumor turns out to be accurate. The rumor being that a new Jet White color for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus is in the pipeline.

The iPhone 7 has been available for over a month now and those wishing to pick up a Jet Black offering are still experiencing frustrations due to stock shortages around the globe. This new report however may give them a reason to pause that pursuit, and we have to admit that the thought of a bright white iPhone 7 has us a little bit giddy. However, we should perhaps temper our expectations just a little.

The reasoning behind that is the fact that the source reporting the supposed arrival of new color option may be offering information that “may be unreliable.”

Given the history of the publication that brings us this information with having successfully predicting the Jet Black color, as well as the loss of the 3.5mm headphone jack on the iPhone 7/7 Plus, we find it interesting that the publication is now less than convinced that its sources are correct. Is this a new source, perhaps?

Rumors obtained from supply chain sources have been hit and miss over the years, and we can’t help but wonder why Apple would release a whole new color option for an existing iPhone that is already very much on sale. If a Jet White iPhone is on the cards we can’t help but think that it would be more likely to arrive as part of the iPhone 8 launch towards the back-end of next year rather than now. This perhaps is one good reason why the information coming in should be taken with a pinch of salt.

The iPhone 8 is already rumored for an all-glass design, while another rumor pegs a more premium stainless-steel finish in addition to the iPhone 8 base models when it lands in September next year. Whether Apple takes the glossy white route like the Jet Black option, or finishes that up with a glass casing, remains to be heard or seen.

Whatever happens or whenever it arrives, we like the idea of a all-white iPhone beyond the iPhone 4/4s and iPhone 5c. Here’s hoping for its arrival.
