Its good to see that microsoft is absent in this arena. we need competition, not monopoly. microsoft pretty much abuses its position in any market it is dominant in. mobile arena is about open standards. apple somehow got to where it is because of its huge apple fanbase and the success of ipod - and its building each product in that direction - like ipad.

android is the big surprise , nokia has held fort - but they need to innovate or get left behind. blackberry is pretty much on the same turf as nokia or sony ericsson )who seem a bit lost at the moment). for guys like samsung/ htc/ lg - they are ready to roll out a number of handsets with any os around!

Apple = Sleek design, works great, very expensive
Microsoft = Does not make hardware, OS is always a work in progress, third parties offer much better value than Apple in the final product.

Umair, I guess Von above is too blind to see that. He's failing to understand the point of this article. An average user doesn't give a shit about what is available to the manufacturers but instead cares about what he gets. Original Writers? Are you out of your mind? Facebook, MySpace, Google and the likes aren't original enough for you? Go finish your lollipop first kid. Plus, it's recommended that you learn to punctuate and improve your grammar before commenting on any blog.
This isn't an anti-Microsoft or anti-Windows Mobile blog, but we don't encourage blind followers or fanboys like you either.
