iPhone 5s Shipping Time Dramatically Improves As Holiday Season Nears

It’s amazing how quickly companies like Apple, Samsung and others magically find stock of their hardware just in time for consumers to get their hands on to send as gifts to family and loved ones. The iPhone 5s has been suffering from a serious lack of availability in the time that has followed since its launch, a problem that seems to be fixed just in time for the holiday shopping season.

Stock of the Cupertino company’s latest iPhone release has been in short supply every since it was launched eight weeks ago. If you weren’t one of the dedicated but slightly insane individuals who set up camp outside an Apple Store then the chances are you might have been left disappointed in your quest to own the latest Apple hardware. You would have been further disappointed if the new gold option was your color of choice for the 5s. Shipping times of the hardware had improved slightly to 1-2 weeks during the middle of last week with the good news being that all models and color variants now show as shipping in 3-5 days.

It’s highly likely that Apple and their supply chains perform a slight amount of throttling on the inventory levels. It’s vitally important for companies to be able to keep up with demand during the next six weeks, and Apple will know from previous experience that this time of year is one of the most profitable periods in terms of revenue generated through in-store and online sales. The 16GB, 32GB and 64GB models are all showing as available with the same 3-5 day shipping time on the Gold, Space Gray and Silver variants.

The iPhone 5s is definitely one of Apple’s recent success stories. Opening weekend sales of the hardware broke all previous iPhone records and Apple has continued to see demand for the device since the end of September. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the iPhone 5c that doesn’t seem to have captured the imagination of consumers. Recent reports have suggested that one of Foxconn’s manufacturing plants have been given the order to halt production of the 5c to concentrate on the producing more 5s models. Still, that means customers shouldn’t be disappointed in the run-up to Christmas.
