iPhone 4S Now Available For Pre-Order In 22 More Countries

When Apple announced the iPhone 4S a couple of weeks ago, they announced that a select few countries were set to get the new handset as early as the following week. While some were lucky enough to only have a week or so to wait in order to get their hands on the next iPhone, some were left to wait just a little bit longer.

Today, Apple has made the iPhone 4S available for pre-order in twenty-two more countries, giving millions of people the opportunity to join in the Siri fun, assuming they happen to speak the right language, of course.

iPhone fans in the following countries can now begin to pre-order their choice of iPhone 4S, be that white or black, and 16GB, 32GB or 64GB.

The lucky territories are: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.

Delivery times are a tad vague right now, with Apple’s online stores claiming delivery is expected in ‘1-2 weeks’ although some are reporting over-the-phone orders are receiving slightly shorter quotes.

The initial roll-out included  the US, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan and the UK. It took just 24 hours for 1 million pre-orders to be made across those countries, and by the end of the first weekend of the iPhone 4S being on sale, Apple was already calling it their most successful iPhone launch ever.

Bringing a further twenty-two countries online can only help to bolster Apple’s takings, which have come under renewed scrutiny after their recent earnings call. Apple’s iPhone sales fell slightly below par for the most recent quarter of 2011, though it appears the iPhone 4S’ stellar take-up will all but eradicate that shortfall.

Many pundits didn’t expect Apple’s iPhone 4S to garner such huge demand after its lackluster announcement on October 4th. With rumors swirling around for months that the next iPhone would sport a completely redesigned teardrop-shaped chassis and a whole new layout, some were disappointed when Apple announced the iPhone 4S would be the same as the iPhone 4, at least in appearance.

With changes under the hood including the addition of Apple’s A5 dual-core processor, an all-new 8-megapixel one and Siri bringing some much needed software glitz, Apple seems to have hit another home run, despite what the naysayers may have believed.
