the removeable battery makes it kinda hard to believe cause that means it will take up more chip space also if they do where does the panel come off also i do know some batterys are built into the pannel but that would make it less sleek but on the up side you could buy extra baterys my phone has 2 cause my x gave me hers extra baterys means extra life sort of and yes i know it also means extra charge time and you halve to check it to see when to charge the next one

i am afraid i completely disagree with you a dual core processor would be the best thing in line for improving phones and the power they carry. On top of that it would make the phone run faster, and i think u are uninformed that the new iphone 4g has a considerably bigger battery since everything is minitaurized in that phone. so this is the best thing that apple could do i mean surpassing 2ghz is just mind blasting to begin with. And yes the 4g does count

I hope you know what you are saying... In my Macbook Pro, the processor scales back from 3.06GHz to 450 MHz when you don't need to do anything, and the battery life rockets to 13 hours. Then, when I trigger the trackpad, the processor boots to a higher clock rate. And dual core has been missed in phones nowadays, especially with the coming of higher and higher resolution screens in smaller and smaller mobile devices, which means that more and more processing power is needed to smoothly process the same images as on a lower resolution screen. And the new iPhone will NOT run the 4G network, as Sprint is the only wireless network with a functioning 4G system, but this is only limited to certain areas of certain cities. 4G isn't going to be widely used for another couple years. And apps would run faster on a faster processor. It's like saying that old games that were compiled for a single core processor will not run faster on a dual core or a quad core processor! Of course they do! A fast processor is also one of the key components in a fast web browsing experience. If the iPhone is a mini computer, it will definitely have an upgraded processor.

Only apps which make recommended use of closures get approved for AppStore.<br>Which means any app on the AppStore will make maximum use of 2 cores by using something similar to Grand Central Dispath (or GCD itself ported). Threads are not allowed on the iPhone as far as I know.

Yes very much so... Yes i get that the iphone 2g was edge network capable(att had 3g when the 1st iphone was released if u can recall), iphone 3g was obviously 3g network, and 3gs (technically the 3g iphone aka 3rd gen)works on 7.2 mbps hsdpa network( faster 3g speed)... But just "think different"for a second...Apple is still in contract with att which hasnt upped there network speeds to this "magical unrealized 4g speeds"(please get me a Mbps speed comparison to hspda when Verizon and sprint roll it out)...My bet is they're just going to improve on its other hardware and not radio freqs. Apple hasnt named the thing yet but by default its a iphone...and its the 4th iteration of it aka 4g...not 2b confused with the network.

Are you serious? Apple's iPhone (2G), and iPhone 3G and 3G[s] are based on NETWORK. Did you see Steve Jobs keynote when the phone was released?

4g iphone refers to the 4th version or generation of iphone(iphone, iphone 3g, iphone 3gs...)...it has nothing to do with the network. Sprint like verizon work using cdma and not gsm like t-mobile and at&t...in short Apple would have to change the internal hardware to make it work with sprint apposed to t-mobile.

this rumor is very unrealistic, cause how are you going to bring a a 4g phone that doesn't even have a 4g network, only sprint has this, unless sprint is concocting a plan with apple. Too weird..

im sorry but a dual core prosessor would be completly pointless. only if it had multi threading applications (none on the app store yet so those 90 thousand apps would run slower) then their would be some improvement, but i highly doubt it. also, it would drain the battery, since there has been no breakthoughs with battery technology and as for everything else, it just seems that their coppying the nexus one, which i find a bit dissapointing. and lastly the rumors of a magic mouse type of casing... what would be the benefit of that :-S sorry for taking a bit of an ani apple stance here im just trying to be realistic. but alas i can see apple coming out with some amazing phone regardless :-D i just hope its something new instead of just improved features (4g not counting :-p)
