iOS 7.0.4 Update Is Safe If You Want A Jailbreak In Future

Prolific jailbreak guru MuscleNerd has taken to his Twitter page to inform users wishing to jailbreak that it is safe to update to iOS 7.0.4. Those of you following the movements of an iOS 7 jailbreak will know that some of the most experienced heads in the scene are currently plugging at Apple’s software trying to find a way through for public jailbreak.

Since the hackers and jailbreak devs have not been sharing any of their exploits, minor releases such as iOS 7.0.4 are safe to update to for current iOS 7.x users. But those still on iOS 6.x are advised to stick to their current setup.

Whenever a new version of iOS is released, it’s almost as though the slate is wiped clean, and all of the hard work before it is essentially diminished. iOS 6 was successfully handed a jailbreak thanks to the work of the Evasi0n tool from the Evad3rs team, but with the majority of newer devices now running on iOS 7, many of those in ownership of an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch are now patiently waiting for a repeat performance of last year.

In this game, there are definitely no guarantees, and at this point in time, an ETA for an untethered jailbreak for iOS 7 is simply not possible. However, this situation has occurred many a time during the time of the last few iOS revisions, and with the Cydia Store offering so many exciting tools to enhance the look and functionality of Apple’s iconic mobile OS, let’s just wait, and hope, that a solution is indeed forthcoming for public consumption.

In the meantime, as aforementioned, you can safely update your current iOS 7 device to 7.0.4. We will update you guys as and when any major progress happens on jailbreak front, so stay tuned!
