for those who are having trouble remaning or replacing .zip to .ipsw in Windows, open control panel open folder options click view and uncheck the box where it says “Hide Extensions For Known File Types” then go back where you downloaded your firmware right click on it and try rename it again you should be able to replace .zip to .ipsw

i downloaded the ipsw file, but when i click on it now, itunes open normally and then nothing happens.

It's easy, just hold down the power button for 5 seconds, the home button for 10 seconds, and then the apple logo should appear on your screen, and your iPhone will turn on, SIMPLE!

delete the file you currently have and redownload it, when you redownload it, change the option to all files, and when you do that change it from .zip to .ipsw, that will save it in the correct format

just download the ipsw file with firefox it will read it as it is u don't have to remove any extension
