How To Get iPhone 6 Plus Display Zoom, Landscape Home Screen Mode On Other Devices

Those behind the great tweaks gracing Cydia are certainly creative, talented, and dedicated enough to ensure that the jailbreak scene continues to thrive. Ryan Petrich has authored a number of tweaks and mods, having been an active member of the community for as long as most can remember, and with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus both offering the usual assortment of exclusive features, Petrich has ensured that those on other devices are not left out.

Jailbreak tweaks make it easy for users to modify the experience to suit individual tastes and requirements, but when Apple decides to keep features specific to certain products, the likes of Petrich can also relax the restrictions and emulate said quirks elsewhere. Both the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus offer a neat new native zooming option, and if you go over to the BigBoss repo and pick up the LittleBrother tweak, you can take advantage of almost identical functionality even if you’re not in ownership of one of the new devices.

You can customize the level of zoom courtesy of the three presets provided – small, medium or large – and like all of Petrich’s other tweaks, it feels native and smooth from the get-go.

Offering seamless zooming would, in itself be enough to more than justify the $1.99 asking price, but LittleBrother includes another awesome feature that, at stock level, is reserved only for the iPhone 6 Plus and Apple’s iPad line-up.

Also thrown into the mix is a landscape mode that works for both the home screen and lock screen as well as other apps. When you flip your device onto its side, your icons will rotate as they would on the 6 Plus, and while similar effects have been attempted umpteen times through jailbreak tweaks, LittleBrother completely nails it.

As you can see from the screens, it’s so simple but functions exactly as it purports, even adding the keyboard extras that users of larger iOS devices are accustomed to.

It works for iPhone 5/5s/5c as well as the iPod touch fifth-gen, and if you wish to run it on the iPhone 6, you can benefit from the landscape mode.

As aforementioned, it’s available over at the BigBoss repo for $1.99, and if you ask us, it’s worth every cent.

Perhaps the best tweak for iOS 8 since Pangu arrived, we cannot recommend it enough, so download it, give it a whirl, and do leave your thoughts below.
