Announced on March 2nd, the iPad 2 will once again be available in GSM guise, and for the last week one question has been on everybody’s lips: Is the GSM iPad unlocked? The answer is yes. Ish.
Citing the usual ‘people familiar with the iPad 2’, 9to5Mac claims that the GSM iPad 2 will actually be unlocked in most markets, though their sources haven’t yet confirmed which markets they are.
Other news to come out of the 9to5Mac post is that the SIM card slow had moved from the site to the top-left of the device, presumably due to the iPad 2’s new svelte design.
The iPad 2 launches in the US on Friday, 11th of March, while select other countries including the UK and Canada will have to wait until March 25th.
