Game of Thrones S07E06 (season 7 episode 6) ‘Death is the Enemy’ download leaks online ahead of its scheduled TV airing by HBO Spain. Here are the details.

It seems like problems keep mounting for HBO where Game of Thrones is concerned. Following on from a hack which involved an approximate 1.5 terabytes of internal data being stolen, including Game of Thrones scripts, one of the company’s partners, Star India appeared to be responsible for a low-quality version of a previously unreleased episode leaking online.

Now, to compound that situation, an internal error at HBO Spain appears to have caused season 7 episode 6 of the show to leak online. The majority of hardcore Game of Thrones fans will entirely ignore the leaked episode in favor of actually patiently waiting for it to air through the standard process. However, there will be a large subset of people who will watch the new episode early and share it amongst their own connections. The HBO Spain error has resulted in a number of high-quality versions of ‘Death is the Enemy’ being shared through various file sharing websites on the Internet, allowing it to be downloaded or streamed at will.

A lot of the shared files are decent enough quality to actually watch and enjoy the episode, although they have been broken up into two separate viewing files, each of which represents half of the episode. For those that want to look hard enough, there is a full length, single file copy of the show in very high-quality which would essentially negate the need to actually wait for HBO to premiere the episode globally. A number of the sharing sites have subsequently removed the file from their servers.

It’s unlikely that we will ever truly know how ‘Death is the Enemy’ came to actually find a place online ahead of its official premiere, but there is some evidence to suggest that it was an accidental leak by HBO itself in Spain. Accidental or malicious, it’s still highly embarrassing for HBO who is enjoying worldwide success from a fanatical cult following with the Game of Thrones series.

Regardless of the source, we would highly recommend staying away from any leaks or streaming of the episode and enjoy it as intended in its full glory.

Four men have recently been arrested in India in connection with the aforementioned HBO server hack, which hopefully puts an end to the misery experienced by the company.
