Fortnite Mobile Friend Codes / Invites Now Available On iOS, Here’s How They Work

Epic Games is officially in the process of letting early-adopting Fortnite mobile gamers know that they are now able to invite friends to join the invite-only event. The codes are issued in limited quantity to registered gamers who are already into the invite-only event.

Epic Games isn’t the first company to artificially limit the number of people who can access its platform. Many extremely popular apps and platforms have prevented access to their content by putting potential users into a queue which relies on actually registering interest and being invited to use the service.

Some companies do this in order to create hype and interest in what’s being offered in the hope that users will want something that they simply can’t have. Others, such as Epic Games, restrict access in order to fine tune the experience and make sure that their servers are performing optimally to handle the demand and need of gamers. They then release in stages to control the load placed upon the game.

The initial iOS invite codes were sent out to those who registered their interest with an iPhone or iPad just a few days ago. With those individuals now being able to access the platform, Epic has decided that it’s time to let those people invite friends and family of their own. After all, gaming is much better when you have your own companions all involved in the game with you, making this an opportunity for hardcore Fortnite gamers to bring their own existing networks into the mobile world.

For those who have registered already, an email has been landing in their provided inbox with the title “New Friend Invites Available Now” and text “You have new friend invites ready to send! Share them with your friends to give them instant access to the Fortnite Invite Event on iOS. You may need to restart the app to see your invitations.”

The email then goes on to give the minimum requirements in order to play the game, including an Internet connected iOS 11-powered device, minimum iPhone 6s, iPhone SE, iPad Air 2, iPad mini 4, iPad Pros, iPad 2017 or a later device.

Once the link has been issued to the invited individual, it can then be redeemed to give Fortnite access to that person.
