Here are some tips to help fix iOS 11 Bluetooth not working or disconnection issues that you might be facing on your iPhone or iPad.
As with any major new update to an operating system, the release of iOS 11 has not been without its issues. While a lot of the issues experienced by people during launch day can often be attributed to user error as features and the way they work change, some of them are also actual bugs that Apple needs to fix in a future update.
Others still could sometimes be the kind that can be rectified by finding the correct incantation required to appease the iOS gods. That is likely the camp that people experiencing strange Bluetooth issues fall into, with some people reporting that they are either unable to connect to Bluetooth devices, or are experiencing seemingly random disconnections.
We rely on Bluetooth more than ever these days, so having it refuse to work properly can be nothing short of infuriating. Thankfully, there are a handful of things that you can try if you do find Bluetooth misbehaving after installing iOS 11, with varying levels of severity. Below, we are going to outline them, so be sure to give them a try if you find yourself in dire straits.
Toggle Bluetooth Radio
This may seem obvious, but that was before iOS 11 arrived. Remember, tapping the Bluetooth icon in Control Center does not actually turn Bluetooth on or off anymore, so you will need to head into the Settings app in order to turn the radio off and then back on again.
Reset Network Settings
This one is a little more severe because it will mean re-entering previously saved WiFi passwords, but if it fixes the issue, that may well be a price worth paying. Head into the Settings app and then General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Reset All Settings
Even more severe, this option will reset all of the settings within iOS 11. Again, find the option in the Settings app followed by General > Reset > Reset All Settings.
Perform A Clean Installation
This is about as severe as things get, but a full re-installation of iOS 11 may just have the desired outcome if the things above fail you. You can follow our guide on what you need to do right here: How To Clean Install iOS 11 Via iTunes The Right Way.
