First Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Image Leak Hits The Web

A new leaked image has given the smartphone-loving community an insight into Samsung’s next big punt in the market; the Galaxy Note 9.

The leaked image gives us what is believed to be the first sight of Samsung’s next “phablet” and it looks just like its predecessor, the Galaxy Note 8.

Smartphone-loving consumers have become accustomed to large manufacturers like Samsung and Apple releasing refreshed handsets on a twelve-month cycle. Sure, it gets expensive when a customer has to purchase a new phone every year or go through an upgrade process. But when the upgrade goes beyond expectations and delivers something truly innovative or cutting-edge, that price becomes justified.

Unfortunately for a lot of manufacturers, those cutting-edge changes aren’t coming thick and fast, and savvy consumers are cottoning onto that fact. If this Galaxy Note 9 leak is accurate, then it seems Samsung fans may be disappointed with what they see.

The leaked image has made its way into the public domain thanks to Ice universe on Twitter. This particular user has pedigree when it comes to accurate predictions and leaks, so there’s no immediate reason to suspect that it is a false image.

Physically speaking, the overall design and aesthetic of the speculated Galaxy Note 9 is almost identical to the 2017 Note 8 model, save for slightly more slimmer bezels above and below the display. The accuracy and legitimacy of the image is also strengthened by the fact that this is the same design change pattern that Samsung followed when moving from Galaxy S8 to Galaxy S9 earlier this year. That was a change which definitely underwhelmed consumers who wanted bigger, almost wholesale design improvements.

The leak doesn’t contain any information relating to technical specifications of the Note 9, but the hardware is largely expected to come equipped with the same internals as the S9+, which shipped earlier in the year. That would include a Super Speed Dual Pixel camera for glorious photography, as well as the same general internal specifications which gives the S9+ its performance.

We’re sure that more information will become known as far as Galaxy Note 9 is concerned in due time, but right now, as things stand, it looks as though phablet lovers can expect a device which is similar to last year’s model, at least where physical design is concerned.
