Facebook Pages Manager For iPhone Lets You Control Your Page Right From Your iOS Device

Facebook has today begun rolling out a new iPhone app, with the latest designed to make managing Facebook Pages as easy as possible for those in charge of a business presence on the social network.

Available in certain App Stores already, and rolling out to others imminently, Facebook Page Manager promises to “help you keep up with your Page and connect with your audience in one place.” If you’re of the Facebook persuasion and have access to a Facebook Page, then we are sure that sounds like something you would be up for!

The app itself appears to follow the same design cues as its big brother, the standard Facebook app. In fact, at a first glance it would be very easy to mistake the two apps for one another, which is either a good or a bad thing depending on which side of the fence you sit. We are willing to believe that a unified experience across both apps is actually a very good thing, though with this being Facebook, we are sure someone will disagree. After all, we are all supposed to hate Facebook aren’t we? You did get that memo, right?

Facebook Pages Manager is, as you would expect, absolutely free. At the time of writing there is no iPad version, and judging by the time it took for Facebook’s iOS engineers to get around to an iPad version of the standard app, we won’t be holding our breath. Whilst we are at it, we are not too sure about that icon, either.

Other than those minor quibbles, Facebook Pages Manager appears to have all the basis covered. Users can post new updates and photos to a Page’s wall, as well as respond to comments just as you would expect from an app from Facebook. Those who like statistics will also be pleased to learn that the app also features a page that will show a Page’s recent ‘Reach’ and number of ‘Engaged Users.’ Lovely.

We suspect that the target audience for Facebook Page Manager is rather narrow, but if you need it then you’ll probably be very happy to hear that it is now available for download or, if not, it will be soon.

Now to wait three years for the iPad version!
