Seb Vettel may have already pretty much sewn up the Formula One driver’s championship for this season, but for true F1 fans, the fun is only just beginning. F1 Challenge has just made its way to the App Store for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users, and with surprisingly few decent titles available to those who love the all-action, adrenaline-pumping nature of the world’s most popular motor sport, it’s something of a messiah. Catch the details, as well as the download link, after the break.

Although it’s always good to actually try out a game before going ahead and passing judgment, you can always make a fairly informed presumption about a title’s credentials by checking out who is behind it. Codemasters is a name may F1 fans will be more than familiar with, since the publisher is the veteran of many an enthralling title, and once again, the company has delivered a very solid Formula 1 experience for those on Apple’s mobile OS.

Considering it only costs $2.99 – very cheap compared with many flagship mobile titles nowadays – it packs in quite a few good features, and with a lot of challenges amounting to a pretty immersing experience, should keep even the casual fan entertained as the season draws its conclusion.

Unfortunately, the game does appear to be based upon last year’s championships, so the new drivers, as well as the respective team changes and alterations, will simply not apply. That said, it’s really all about the racing, as well as the build-up to each race and all of the other bells and whistles. In this respect, F1 Challenge does not disappoint, and for the price, is definitely worth the download.

It’s worth noting that this is not a straight port of the console version; instead, much care and attention has been given to ensuring the game is nicely optimized for mobile devices. As such, the view when racing is very much from a bird’s eye, so if you were hoping for a Real Racing incarnate for Formula 1, unfortunately, F1 Challenge is not that.

Still, provided you have an iOS 7-enabled device and a spare three bucks, it looks plenty of fun, so grab it from the link provided, and be sure to leave your thoughts below!
