iOS 10.1.1 Jailbreak For iPhone 7, 6s, iPad Pro Released, Download Now

You can now download Yalu, the first ever iOS 10 / 10.1.1 jailbreak that has just been made public for iPhone 7, 7 Plus, 6s, 6s Plus, and iPad Pro. Here’s everything you need to know about it.

Following hot on the heels of the iOS 10.1.1 jailbreak exploit reveal in the form of Project Zero, Italian developer and security researcher Luca Todesco has stayed true to his promise by delivering a publicly accessible jailbreak for select devices running iOS 10.1.1. The enthusiastic jailbreak community has been waiting patiently for any solid and concrete information pertaining to a jailbreak on iOS 10.x, which came very recently when an exploit was posted online after it was patched by Apple in iOS 10.2.

A tweet in the immediate aftermath of that release by Todesco all but promised that he would be looking to use that exploit information to put together a jailbreak package that could be downloaded and used by general device owners looking to get Cydia functioning on iOS 10.1.1. It now seems that the necessary work has been undertaken, with the release of this jailbreak giving iPhone and iPad owners a way of removing the shackles from Apple’s walled garden.

Dubbed “yalu + mach_portal”, as of right now, it is important to note that this is a beta release, meaning it might have all sort of bugs and teething issues. Also, Cydia Substrate isn’t supported as yet.

The supported firmwares and devices are also limited, though future releases are said to add support for more firmware versions and iOS devices. The jailbreak is also not of fully untethered variety. It’s semi-untethered, like Pangu’s iOS 9.3.3 jailbreak. Currently, only iPhone 7 / 7 Plus running iOS 10.1 and iOS 10.1.1, and iPhone 6s / 6s Plus and iPad Pro running any version of iOS 10.x (pre-iOS 10.2) are supported by the jailbreak.

iOS 10.1.1 jailbreak

If you are on iOS 10.2, you are out of luck for now as Apple has stopped signing iOS 10.1.1, meaning there’s no way to downgrade to iOS 10.1.1 from iOS 10.2. If you saved your SHSH2 blobs for iOS 10.1.1 while Apple was still signing the firmware, you should be able to upgrade to iOS 10.1.1 from your jailbroken iOS 9.3.3 device once Prometheus tool is available to download.
