At this time of year, when we’re all spent up and waiting for the credit card bills to arrive, nothing’s more welcome than the possibility of getting something for nothing. Our regular readers will know that we have a bit of a tradition of telling our dear ones of paid apps that have gone free, whether for a limited time or for good.

Cribbage Premium ($1.99 – FREE / iPhone and iPad)
If you like the odd game of digital cribbage and have an iPhone or iPad then this is apparently a good place to start. It wasn’t expensive to start with but with its new price there’s nothing to lose by giving it a try.

Hearts Tournament ($1.99 – FREE / iPhone and iPad)
As far as card games go, Hearts isn’t the first that jumps to mind for us. We’ve been wrong about things before though, so don’t let us stop you from getting your cards on. Apparently the number 1 rated Hearts game, this should be the one you download if Hearts is your bag.

Mystery Math Museum ($2.99 – FREE / iPad)
There’s nothing more important as far as we’re concerned than kids learning how numbers work and there are few better ways to do that than to make it fun. This free math game aims to do that, and now that it’s free there’s never been a better time to download it for your iPad.

NightCap ($0.99 – FREE / iPhone)
Taking photos on an iPhone is as easy as could be, and you usually get pretty impressive results. Low-light shooting is always a problem for any camera though, and NightCap does the best it can with the iPhone’s hardware. Increasing brightness and using a longer exposure, NightCap is well worth a try.

My Flights and My Flights HD ($1.99/$4.99 – FREE / iPhone and iPad)
If you take regular flights then you’ll know that having flight details change can be irritating. With My Flights you’ll be told when anything changes, meaning fewer nasty surprises at the gate.

Hyper Trip ($1.99 – FREE / iPhone and iPad)
A 3D reflex game that will make your eyes bleed, Hyper Trip is probably one of the nicer looking, more interesting reflex games on the App Store. Now that it’s free, we’d recommend it to anyone. In fact, we’d recommend it at $1.99, too.
