Download: Popular iOS Game Ridge Racer Goes Free As Apple’s App Of The Week [$3 Value]

It’s that time of the week yet again! Apple is offering yet another paid iOS app for free for all iPhone and iPad users thanks to its Free App of the Week promo. Today’s title – a game – usually retails for $2.99 on the App Store but can be downloaded absolutely free till Thursday.

Called, Ridge Racer Slipstream, it is easily one of the most adrenaline filled arcade racing games out there to have hit the App Store, and given its popularity, it’s no surprise that the last time the title shed its price tag completely was years ago.

As the developer tells us, this game is “The ultimate arcade racing franchise brings the console experience to your iOS device! Slipstream past your rivals and drift around tight turns at over 150 MPH!” with access to over 12 different machines.

The game packs some brilliantly exciting courses to race on. In particular, you get “10 unique venues and 20 courses for head to head racing”, including ” over 100 racing competitions across 6 Grand Prix Series”. Of course all of this is made even more exciting with “high end graphics in beautifully detailed locations: Lost Ruins, Industrial Drive, Harbor Line, Old Central, and others”.

There’s also a neat little multiplayer and social sharing experience built into the title:

– Battle friends and racing rivals to make your way to the top
– Connect with Facebook to gain rewards and share achievements and milestones with the Ridge Racer community

Ridge Racer Slipstream is one amazing title to be had and played when on the bus, or train ride to the office or back, or when you’re literally bored out of your mind relaxing on your lounger. However, do make haste, as the offer lasts only till Thursday. Happy gaming!
