I've just been keeping up with Engadget waiting on the 2.1 release for my phone. I think it's total bullshit that they are releasing the Hero update last considering it was Sprint's first HTC phone to use Droid. They are planning on releasing it sometime in the second quarter of this year. Even the damn Moment has it already and that wasn't scheduled until the second quarter also. So maybe there is hope for me.

All 2.1 ROMs I've seen haven't gotten the camera working yet. It's probably best to wait for the official release if that's an important feature to you for the time being.

If you don't know how, it's probably best you don't do it and just wait for the official release. Flashing a radio (whether incorrectly or with the wrong image) is the only known way to brick an Android phone.

Actually the U.S. version of the hero through sprint is CDMA.
