Cyber Monday 2012 Guide: Here Are Some Of The Best Deals Available On Apple, Google And Microsoft Products

Thanksgiving weekend may have been enhanced by the Black Friday savings on offer, but as many of you will be aware, the deals have not yet ceased. After Black Friday comes Cyber Monday, and with so many big-money savings, it can be hard to keep track. Here, we run through some of the best offers from the companies you like to purchase from, so if you have any money left, check out the Cyber Monday options after the break.

As with our holiday season guide, we’ve broken everything down into categories, so if there’s something specific you’re looking to grab on this day of bargains, you needn’t read the post in its entirety.

Before we proceed, it’s worth pointing out that nearly all of the deals – at least, those on apps – still stand from Black Friday. Some of the titles reduced in price – many of which have gone free – still stand, so please check out the aforementioned thread, as well as this one for iOS, and this one for Android.

If you’re a big gamer, there are some handsome savings on Xbox 360 titles this Cyber Monday, and before you simply presume only the lower-end titles drop down in price, check out this list:

That’s right, the likes of NFS: MW, Black Ops II, FIFA 13 and Halo 4 are all on offer, so if you were waiting for this year’s big releases to drop in price, this is your moment!

Apart from the above, the Microsoft Store is also having serving great deals on Cyber Monday and are offering great savings on brand new hardware. Microsoft is offering select Xbox 360 consoles with a price reduction of $50, and that’s not all, you can grab yourself an Xbox 360 4GB Kinect Gears of War 3 Bundle for just $259, which will save you $70.

Major Nelson has also announced great deals for Cyber Monday on Xbox LIVE, and is offering the following titles on a great discount:

Meanwhile, Wal-Mart has the Xbox 360 Skylanders Family Fun Bundle for just $159, and it’s worth noting most of the console bundles mentioned in this post still stand.

Windows 8

This section is dedicated to Windows 8 hardware and software, and takes into account the entire umbrella of products covered by the Redmond company’s latest OS release.

The Microsoft Store is offering great savings on a bunch of Windows 8 PCs. To start off, you can grab yourself an ASUS VivoBook touchscreen notebook for just $499, which will save you $200 upfront on its regular price. Apart from that, you can grab yourself a Vizio 14-inch and 15-inch ultrabook for $599 and $1099, which will save you $250 and $100 respectively.

You can also snag yourself a copy of Office for Home and Student for just $50 directly from a Microsoft Store.

If you’re looking for an ultrabook or tablet running on Windows 8, some of the big-name vendors have the best deals on offer. Acer has savings of up to $170 on Windows 7 and Windows 8 computers, as well as touchscreen notebooks, and Japanese giant Sony also has a few up tricks up its sleeve. The Vaio S Series 13 notebooks, which pack in a Core i7-3520M processor, 8GB of RAM, 750GB hard drive, NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M LE discreet graphics, and Windows 8 Pro, can now be had at the reduced price of $1,079.99.

If you don’t want to spend so much cash, the HP Envy Windows 8 ultrabook with 500GB of storage and 4 GB of RAM is now $549 -  down from $799 at Best Buy, where you’ll find a slew of other Windows 8 deals.

Costco is offering its own Windows 8 deals, including $500 off a Dell XPS 8500. The Intel Core i7-3770 clocked at 3.4 GHz will set you back $999.99, while the HP ENVY dv7t Quad notebook with Intel Core i7-3530GM 2.4 Ghz processor (as well as a Blu-ray writer) is down $400 to just $999.99.

If you’re looking for something over the edge to accessorize your current hardware, then Microsoft Store is offering 10% off on every Beats by Dr. Dre headphones.

Windows Phone

Nokia Lumia 900 (Windows Phone 7.5) is available for just $1 on contract from AT&T.

Apple

Best Buy has a great deal on iTunes gift cards, offering reasonable savings and free shipping. A $15 iTunes gift card will set you back $12.75, a $25 iTunes gift card costs $21.25, $42.50 will get you a $50 iTunes gift card, and if you really want to splash out (and save big), you can pick up a $100 iTunes gift card for just $85.

Of course, if you don’t want to spend all of your precious pennies on large gift cards, there still remains a slew of iTunes content you can grab at a discounted rate this Cyber Monday. Having been impressed by some of the savings on offer over the weekend, I am even more aghast at just how kind the developers have been in bringing free and discounted games and apps.

If, in fact, a deal on iTunes gift cards and apps is jumping the gun, and you’re looking for a device to play them on, there are still deals going on this Cyber Monday. Sure, some of the better ones may have passed with Black Friday, but if you missed the last shopping bonanza, you can still save yourself an arm and a leg by checking out some of the Cyber Monday specials.

Best Buy and MacMall are among the retailers providing some of the best deals, with the former offering the latest iPod nano 7th-gen 16GB for $139.99, a saving of ten bucks. Meanwhile, over at MacMall, there remain big savings on some of the most sought-after Cupertino gadgets:

  • 3rd-generation 16 GB Wi-Fi white iPad just $439.99, a saving of $59.00
  • 17-inch MacBook Pro quad-core with 4GB of RAM, 750GB HD only $2199.99, a saving of $649.00
  • 13.3-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display, dual core processor, 8GB of RAM, 128GB SSD, just $1623.89, a saving of $75.00
  • 11.6-inch MacBook Air dual-core 4GB of RAM, 64GB SSD only $939.88, a saving of $59.00

Looking for Android powered hardware? Well, there’s lots going! The Galaxy Note 4G with a T-Mobile contract is free at Best Buy, whereas it usually costs you $150. Best Buy also has the 10.1-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 Wi-Fi with 16GB storage at $299.99 from $399.99, and the HTC Wildfire S running Android is free on a two-year deal. Among the most exciting of Best Buy’s range of deals is the flagship Galaxy S III from Samsung, which can be had on a 2 year contract for just $150.

The Motorola Xoom 4G tablet is just $199.99 from Verizon, and the HTC Droid Incredible 2, Sony Xperia Play and Motorola Droid Pro are all free on that two-year plan.

Google’s flagship Android tablet, 32GB Nexus 7, is available at a $50 discount from Sears.com.

Amazon has the Samsung Galaxy Note II in titanium, carried by Sprint, for $229.99 (2 year contract), while Barnes & Noble will present you with a $25 gift card when you grab the Nook Simple Touch e-reader, a Nook Color tablet or Nook Tablet and pay by MasterCard. B&N also offer 30% off of any one item, half off New York Times bestsellers, and up to 70% off selected Blu-ray movies. A brand new current-gen Kindle Fire is also being sold by Amazon for a price of just $129, at checkout, simply use the code FIREDEAL and you’re good to go!

To wrap up, there are also some great deals on other gaming consoles besides the Xbox 360. The Nintendo Wii bundled with the new Super Mario Bros. game will set you back $134.99 at GameStop, while the PlayStation 3 and Assassin’s Creed III Bundle is for $299.99 at Circuit City. Apart from that, Electronic Arts Origin is offering 50% off on more than a 100 titles, which we must say; is a pretty sweet deal!
