How To Check iPhone Uptime Since Last Reboot In iOS Without Jailbreak

Have you ever slipped into the System Information on your Mac and checked out how long the system has been running for without a reboot? Once in there, has it ever crossed your mind that Apple’s mobile devices, like iPhone and iPad, don’t actually easily expose this information to you?

Well, if you are inquisitive, and want to see exactly how long your device has been running for, rest assured that it is possible.

Having this information will actually give you the data that you need to determine if you should power the device down for a while and give it a chance to recuperate, or if it has a few days or weeks left in it before it needs to be given a rest. Let’s jump in and take a look at the simple steps.

Step 1: Smartphone and tablet users are so used to hearing the phrase “there’s an app for that,” but, typically speaking, there always is. And in this instance, there most definitely is an app which does what we need. So, with that in mind, get onto the App Store and download the System Status Lite app from here.

Step 2: Launch the app once it has been installed. You will get the usual launch experience of the app launching and will be taken to an Overview screen which gives information about the device. Look for the “SYSTEM UPTIME” header

Step 3: Inside of that section header you will see information pertaining to Boot Time and Uptime. The former tells you the date and time when the device was last booted up, and the latter gives you a real-time view of how long it has been running for since that last reboot to the present time and date.

Like most computers, it’s actually a fairly sensible idea to check how long the device has been running for without a reboot and actually treat it to a little rest now and then. Most computers benefit from being laid to rest on occasion, and smartphones and tablets are exactly the same.

However, if you are jailbroken on iOS 11, and are planning on shutting the device down as it’s been running for a long time, remember that you will need to re-jailbreak using the provided IPA because of semi-untethered nature of modern jailbreaks.
