Camera+ Adds iOS 8 Widget, Direct Instagram Sharing, More

The native Camera app for iOS is bundled with a decent supply of features, but it’s still lacking in many key areas. Camera+, which has been around since the early days of the App Store, fills in many of the blanks, offering a more rounded experience with a number of additional options. If you fancy yourself as a bit of an amateur photographer, then you should really have Camera+ in your repertoire, especially given the new features that have just been added to the iconic point-and-shoot app. More details on the changes, as well as the direct download link, can be seen below.

Apple has continually striven to ensure that the cameras gracing its iOS device range offer a top-notch level of performance, and the rear-facing shooter of the latest iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus is lauded as the very best in the mobile market. As noted, the stock app is fairly robust, but Camera+ has long lived up to its billing by offering that little something extra, and the latest update only reaffirms its position as the go-to third-party camera app for iOS.

With the introduction of iOS 8, Apple allowed developers to create widgets for the Today / Notification Center pull-down interface, and Camera+ has today taken full advantage. The new widget lets you fire up Camera+ with consummate ease, and also includes a number of photo tips and inspirational quotes that’ll appeal to the inner photographer within you.

Elsewhere, there’s also “advanced white balance control,” and if you’re rocking either the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus, you’ll be pleased to learn that the UI has been updated to better suit the enlarged display.

Camera+ 6.2 also includes direct Instagram sharing, so if your main aim when taking snaps on your device is to share them with your buddies on the photo-sharing network, you’ll be able to with less red tape.

Camera+ will set you back $3.99, and as a long-time user of this app, I can personally recommend it to anybody looking to get the most out of their iOS device’s shooter. If you’ve already paid for Camera+, then this update is completely free of charge, and you can grab it right now via the download link below.
