Brita Infinity Wi-Fi Water Pitcher Automatically Orders New Filters When Needed

It seems that even the most obscure companies that you wouldn’t expect to embrace the Internet of Things (IoT) revolution are starting to get in on the act. Most of you have probably heard of Brita – the German company that specializes in water filtration products – and have probably even used one of its products at one point or another. An industry leader in what it does, but not exactly a company that you would immediately expect to come up with a Wi-Fi enabled water pitcher that offers integration with Amazon Dash to automatically restock itself. Well, that’s exactly what the Brita Infinity is.

One of the great things about this modern age of Internet-connected devices is that we are starting to see companies embracing the technology by introducing intelligence into every-day devices that are used throughout the home. Companies like Brother, GE, Whirlpool, and now Brita, are starting to understand the benefits and convenience associated with adding this type of tech into normal, every-day piece of kit. The Brita Infinity is one great example, and is the “first smart, Wi-Fi enabled” water pitcher available on the market. Of course, if anyone was going to do it, it would have to be Brita.

The Brita Infinity is fundamentally no different from any other Brita water pitcher, as it needs the underlying filters to be changed periodically to ensure that it is filtering the water poured through it as efficiently as possible. The intelligent nature of the Infinity means that it continually keeps a close eye on how much water is actually passing through the system and being cleaned, and then automatically uses its Wi-Fi connectivity to order new filters through an integration with Amazon Dash when necessary. The whole setup of the process is as simple as registering the Infinity, connecting it to a wireless network, and then sitting back to enjoy filtered water.

The collaboration is likely one of many that we will see between Amazon and household names in the near future as the online retailer looks to get more products and companies supporting the Dash experience. Those interested in this intelligent, Wi-Fi connected water filtration systems can order the Brita Infinity for $44.99.
