Steve Jobs tried his best to defend iPhone 4 antenna issue in the special press conference which was held on July 15 by comparing it with some of the other popular handsets having the same problem but this apparently hasn’t gone too well with these companies. They believe that Apple in an effort to clear its own mess has dragged others in to the issue unnecessarily. And so as a result, the recent Samsung Galaxy S ad may just be the beginning of yet another anti-Apple advertising campaign.

In Q3 of fiscal year 2010, Apple has reported a record 78 % increase in earnings. Apple, which is the most valuable technology company in the U.S. and the second most valuable U.S. company overall has reported earnings of $3.51 per diluted share which is significantly higher than the $3.11 per share estimates from Wall Street analysts. With these statistics, the company once again has broken its own previous records, this time reporting an extraordinary $15.7 billion in revenue and a net quarterly profit of $3.35 billion.

Chinese are known for cloning popular western products. They have done this to almost all Apple products in the past like iPods, iPhones and iPads. According to Apple, the white iPhone 4 takes ‘a little more time to make’ and is hence not available yet for pre-orders. But now it looks like these Chinese are going to soon beat Apple to market by releasing a iPhone 4 knockoff in white dubbed as ‘Ciphone 4′. I wonder if the addition of letter ‘C’ refers to the phone being from ‘China’, or a ‘Clone’ of iPhone 4?.

Earning through paid apps for iPhone developers is not new, but earning $1400 USD in a single day through a free app in App Store is nothing less than hitting the jackpot. Jason Ting, a US based iPhone developer shared data on his revenues made using newly launched Apple iAd program. The data showed that he made $1400 on the first day alone for a iPhone 4 utility app that was approved, and released by Apple only yesterday. More astonishing was the astounding $150 eCPM which he got for his app from iAd program.

Apple today in an open letter has officially acknowledged the iPhone 4 reception problem, which is confirmed as a software issue which will be fixed via software update coming in the next few weeks. This is getting ridiculous. I cant believe we are seeing this with Apple’s flagship product. If antenna or yellow spot screen discoloration issues were not enough, there are now reports of unhappy customers who have got new iPhone 4’s with flipped buttons for volume rocker. And moreover, if you press the “-“ button, it will result in increasing of the volume while pressing “+” will result in volume getting quieter.

The long wait for iPhone 4 is almost over, well for most anyway. Apple has begun notifying customers that their iPhone 4 pre-orders have now started shipping. Apple has notified several readers about the status of their pre-orders through shipment notifications and FedEx tracking numbers of their iPhone 4. Surprisingly, some of those shipment notifications indicate a “Delivers By” date of June 23rd, a day before the official launch day i.e. June 24th.

It was indeed very sweet and thoughtful of Stefan Magdalinski, a guy from South Africa to come up with this great idea of wrapping an iPad in a chocolate bar, on the eve of his beloved wife’s birthday.
