Ever fancied having two SIMs in your iPhone 4, which is of course either factory unlocked or hacked to run any carrier SIM you like? Well apparently, USBFever has come up with a solution which could be very useful if you like hopping around two networks. The Dual SIM Card Adaptor allows you to hook two SIM cards with the help of a clip, which goes around the iPhone 4 and is held tightly together with a transparent back cover case which it ships with.

Apple has started hanging banners outside San Francisco’s Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater in preparation for the upcoming “Special Event” which will be held on September 1st, here in San Francisco. The large musical guitar banner which you can see in the images below hints towards a music-related event, as it has been for the last few years.

According to a recent post on Facebook blog, Facebook has over 150 million users actively accessing the worlds largest social networking site via mobile devices. Out of those 150 million active mobile users, “Facebook for iPhone” accounts for a staggering 100 million users per month. Now that is as much as the number of iOS based devices (iPhone, iPad and iPod touch) sold by Apple as per June of this year. What this means is that there is a “Facebook for iPhone” app installed on almost every iOS device ever sold!

Here is what appears to be a leaked late production unit of a white iPhone 4 which is officially scheduled to launch “later this year”. 9to5Mac site which got the scoop on it believes that this might be one of those units which have been “scrapped by Apple at the last minute after defects in the white color clarity were found”. Unboxing and hands-on video after the break.

If you haven’t been living under a rock or something, you will probably know that it was Apple who first came up with this new innovative way of unlocking phone on a touch-screen with iPhone. The now “Slide to Unlock” screen that you probably see the most on your phone was one of the most “ooh aah” thing of 2007. Same goes for iPhone’s virtual keyboard which had this “letter pop-out” effect which no other phone at that time had.

The guy behind The MacBook Air Project site has managed to fit a fully working Mac (MacBook Air to be more precise) under a combination of Apple Wireless Keyboard and the newly released Magic Trackpad. It is one single piece which you can connect to any monitor to enjoy full Mac OS X experience. Amazing isn’t it? It features: 1.6 Ghz Core 2 Duo processor, 2GB of RAM, and 80GB of HDD. He did this because he believed that it “will be used much beyond internet / email….maybe as an Apple TV replacement”.

It was just April of this year when we first started hearing about an affordable Hackintosh-capable touch-screen Tablet called the Axon Haptic. Today, it is a reality and you’ll be able to pre-order it this week for $750, oh and did I tell you that it runs Windows 7, Mac OS X and Linux – all in one!

Adobe today has released a new version of Photoshop for all iOS based devices, in the process rebranding the old and limited functional Photoshop.com Mobile app for iPhone to Adobe Photoshop Express. This new version brings a new and improved UI, support for iPad, and a whole bunch of new features for the iPad version, which of course makes sense given the larger screen space of the device. One downside? It still lacks support for iPhone 4’s Retina Display, which is a big disappointment in my opinion. Anyhow, the official change log of Adobe Photoshop Express version 1.3 is as follows.

Just came across this video and thought I should share it with you all. It is for one of those awful moments when you drop your iPhone or any other expensive portable consumer electronics item in water and you are then clueless on how to fix it. Since warranties don’t cover water damage, this procedure posted by iFixYouri can come to your rescue big time.

This is now turning into a norm isn’t it? Every time a new iPhone is launched, there are designers who come up with unique designs to decorate these gadgets in their own ways and styles. With the launch of iPhone 4, this tendency has increased manifold. Last year, we saw a 3.2 Million dollars iPhone 3GS Supreme. This year with the arrival of iPhone 4, we saw a Swiss registered company Gresso, offering iPhone 4 with a unique wooden back panel. This back panel was made of 200-year-old African Blackwood and the Apple logo on the back was made with 18 karat Gold. And then finally came the iPhone 4 Diamond Edition. But to get this uniqueness and style, you had to shell out lots of money, from $3,500 to somewhere around $20,000 for the Diamond Edition which is certainly not affordable by any ordinary individual isn’t it.

I was going through YouTube this morning when I came across this video showing a comparison between a Windows 7 based Slate PC and an Apple iPad. What was surprising for me was how in some places the Windows 7 based “Hanvon” Slate did better job than its iPad counterpart – Internet Explorer 8 was faster to load pages than Mobile Safari, the YouTube web app on Windows 7 was certainly loading videos much faster than the native YouTube app on iPad and so on.

Since jailbreaking has been declared in United States as 100 percent legal, and now that we have the easiest jailbreak to date (JailbreakMe) which is all web-based and doesn’t require any Mac or a PC to run, some users thought why not to give it a go to jailbreak iOS devices in the nearest Apple Store? All for fun of course!

Last month in a special iPhone 4 centric press conference, Steve Jobs defended iPhone 4 antenna issue by comparing it with some of the other popular handsets having the same problem. The key point which Apple wanted everyone to know was that this so called “attenuation” problem is not limited to iPhone 4 only. And so to further highlight this, Apple set up a new webpage on Apple.com which showcased different popular smartphones like Motorola Droid X, Samsung Omnia II, BlackBerry Bold, HTC Droid Eris etc having the same problem.

We have already seen iPad being used by Hollywood directors, installed in the cars, being used in restaurants as menu cards, and how some airlines are thinking about adopting it as an inflight entertainment system for its passengers in the skies. And now besides its entertainment and commercial uses, iPad is slowly creeping into military training arena. At the Royal School of Artillery in Wiltshire, UK, iPads are used in classrooms to train soldiers. Early reports indicate that this experiment so far has been successful in accelerating their learning, thanks largely to the natural interactive experience which is said to have been responsible for this.

Motorola has joined Samsung to pour more salt on Apple’s iPhone 4 wounds. In a new Droid X ad which appeared today in the New York Times, Motorola laid the smack-down on both Apple and iPhone 4 by taking on the whole antennagate with its new slogan “No Jacket Required”.

Yesterday, a court in United States ruled jailbreaking and unlocking iPhones as 100 percent legal as long as it does not violate any copyright laws. This decision was a blow for Apple who has always been against jailbreaking of iPhones. When asked about this ruling, Apple at the moment at least has adopted defensive strategy, saying that jailbreaking may have been declared as legal but it will still void your iPhone’s warranty with Apple.

The United States government today has announced that jailbreaking and unlocking iPhones, rooting of Android phones and ripping DVDs (for educational purposes) is completely legal as long as they are not violating copyright law. Jailbreaking and Unlocking of iPhones has never been illegal, it was just that Apple had strict policies right from the start which prohibited users from installing apps on their device which were not approved by Apple, along with locking the phone so that it can be used on one carrier only.

Steve Jobs tried his best to defend iPhone 4 antenna issue in the special press conference which was held on July 15 by comparing it with some of the other popular handsets having the same problem but this apparently hasn’t gone too well with these companies. They believe that Apple in an effort to clear its own mess has dragged others in to the issue unnecessarily. And so as a result, the recent Samsung Galaxy S ad may just be the beginning of yet another anti-Apple advertising campaign.

In Q3 of fiscal year 2010, Apple has reported a record 78 % increase in earnings. Apple, which is the most valuable technology company in the U.S. and the second most valuable U.S. company overall has reported earnings of $3.51 per diluted share which is significantly higher than the $3.11 per share estimates from Wall Street analysts.
