Apple TV Gets New Channels In US, UK, Central EU And Canada, Here’s The List

Apple continues to add more channels to its Apple TV set-top box, and this time it’s CBS Sports and USA NOW that have made the cut – along with a bunch of few others, depending on the region you’re currently in. If you have a second or third generation Apple TV, the new channels should show up automatically in the next few hours.

The channels discussed above by name are strictly meant for the United States and users will now have greater access and choice towards on-demand sports, drama, comedy and more genres. If you’re outside of the U.S., Apple is also pushing out an update for the U.K., Central E.U., Australia, and Canada as well, bringing a new channel or two to the relative countries.

In the U.S., CBS Sports will allow users to catch free clips of an array of sports such as NBA, NFL, MLB, college sports and much more. The channel also allows for additional content but that would of course require a subscription. USA NOW however, would require a cable provider login to access most of the content, and once users have logged in, you will be able to watch full episodes from your favorite USA NOW shows such as Burn Notice, Suits, Dig, and more.

Outside of the United States, the United Kingdom will be getting the Hopster; a channel that has been dubbed as the Netflix for kids, with shows oriented towards the younger audience, including entertainment and educational games. In the Central E.U, such as France and Germany, users will now have access to Arte which brings a multitude of genres to the Apple TV. Australia on the other hand, like the United States, will be getting a dose of sports with the FOX Sports network, while Canada will be getting two new channels; Shomi and CraveTV. CraveTV will give users access to popular programs such as Homeland, Nurse Jackie, Weeds, Happyish, Bosch, The Wire, Seinfeld, and more.
