Apple Starts Decorating McEnery Convention Center Ahead Of WWDC 2017 Keynote

We are now just three days away from the opening keynote of WWDC 2017 and Apple has started to decorate the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California, getting it ready for the huge number of convention attendees and Apple employees that will be making their way there next week.

Photographs of the center, which have begun to pop up on Twitter as people notice the work going on, show that Apple is setting up banners, flags and similar artwork that will give the venue a typically WWDC vibe similar to how the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco received its annual titivation prior to this year’s event.

While each move Apple makes surrounding a WWDC opening keynote has historically been subject to much guesswork in the hope of finding out what Apple will talk about during the event, this year’s artwork is giving few ideas away.

The posters that are going up at the McEnery Convention Center do appear to follow similar design patterns to those which adorned the original announcements that went out for this year’s WWDC. That incorporates images of people, shot from above, all wearing colorful clothes.

If you can work out what Apple’s big WWDC announcements are from that, then you are better people than us! The artwork used by Apple was created by Los Angeles artist Geoff McFettridge.

This year’s Worldwide Developers Conference will start on June 5 at 10:00 a.m PT, kicking off with the traditional opening keynote. During this time Apple is expected to give us our first glimpses of iOS 11, macOS 10.13, watchOS 4 and tvOS 11. There is the suggestion that we may see the unveiling of new hardware products as well, including new MacBook Pro notebooks, additions to the iPads line, and a much-rumored Siri-enabled speaker, similar to the Amazon Echo and Google Home devices.
