It’s fair to say that, with iOS 7, animation is a much more prevalent feature than ever before. But thanks to the closed-source nature of the Apple firmware, customization is about as non-existent as it has ever been, but thanks to the wonderful work of the jailbreak community – namely, the Evad3rs team with their Evasi0n7 utility – we can actually now tweak the animations way beyond what we could have imagined at stock level. The Animer for iPhone tweak has been around a while to facilitate this, and in news that will certainly appease long-time users and jailbreakers, it has just been updated for iOS 7.

Unsurprisingly, the tweak has been renamed Animer7, in line with the naming scheme of many iOS 7-based tweaks this time around. For the uninitiated, Animer7 allows you to customize the way certain menus and elements behave, or animate, and whether you wish to tweak with the multitasking animations or those of the banner notifications, Animer7 has you covered all the way.

You can, for example, have certain banners fade in and out, which is ideal if you’re looking to bring an element of calm to proceedings. Conversely, you can have notifications and menus slide from all manner of angles and directions, but whatever you’re trying to achieve, Animer7 is easily the best animation tweak we’ve stumbled across thus far.

As well as letting you change the feel of your iOS 7 experience, Animer7 also has one or two hidden extras up its sleeve. As well as giving you the option to hide the Newsstand icon – because, let’s face it, very few people use it – you can also hide the separator lines in the Control Center, for a cleaner overall look.

Animer7 can be found over at the BigBoss repository, and will set you back $1.99. If you’ve encountered previous iterations of Animer, you’ll certainly want to pick this one up, and for a shade under two bucks, it definitely offers great value for money.

Here’s a quick demo of the tweak in action:

If you still want a little bit more on the animations front, then be sure to give Random Icon Flip a shot too.
