Amazon has just updated its iOS app which now adds support for the Apple Watch. This new update gives users the ability to search, buy or save products to their wish list right from Cupertino’s new wearable.
Back in March, there were an increasing number of reports on the Internet suggesting that the online retail giant’s app for Apple’s new wearable was just around the corner, where its arrival was all but confirmed. That day is finally here, and Amazon has launched the app on the very same day when Apple Watch orders begin arriving at our doorsteps.
The new functions associated with the Apple Watch app are limited to a handful of countries though. Owners of the watch residing in the U.S., U.K., Japan, China, Germany, India, Spain, Italy, France and Canada will be able to make use of the app’s new voice search function, and consequently choose to buy or save the item to a wish list in case you change your mind about that particular item later on.
The newly updated Amazon app for iOS also brings with it a new Safari extension. The extension allows you to save products from other websites and add them to your Amazon wish list. For example, if you find a book you would like to buy later on, hit the share option in Safari and tap on Wish List to add that book to your Amazon, well, Wish List!
The app is compatible with the Handoff feature introduced in iOS 8, and as such, this allows you to view the full details of an item you’ve come across on your watch, on your iPhone or iPad. Coupled with Amazon’s patented 1-Click shopping system, the retail giant is making sure that your shopping experience is quick and easy.
If you’re a frequent shopper from Amazon, then there’s no way you should pass up on this update. The app is absolutely free to download from the App Store, and for your convenience, we’ve added the direct download link below. If you have the app already installed, then simply launch the App Store, and tap on the Updates tab to grab the latest update.
