‘AlarMe’ For Android Is A Brilliant Weather Aware Alarm App

We know what you’re thinking; why do different app marketplaces for each mobile platform need a plethora of third-party alarm apps, when the native implementation does the job perfectly well? We have to agree to a certain extent and have always found that the simplistic alarm feature on our iPhone or Galaxy S III does a perfectly good job of getting us up in the morning. With that said, there’s always room for a little innovation regardless of the app genre. And it looks like AlarMe for Android app combines necessary alarm features with a very clever weather based twist.

This isn’t the first time that a developer has taken on the challenge of creating an alarm clock with a difference. Nor is it the first time that a developer has integrated the current weather conditions into an alarm based functionality, but regardless of whether it has been done before the AlarMe implementation looks and feels like it has been done just right. The concept is all about determining the correct time to set off the alarm based on the current weather conditions outside. In short, the app is weather aware.

The app comes with up to six customizable weather rules that can be easily set with the tap of a few buttons from the Holo themed user interface. Alarms can be created just like you would expect with any other app of this nature, but if it’s snowing or raining in your particular location, then you can apply a rule that will set the alarm off a little earlier than normal. If the weather conditions are perfect and sunny or no rules have been set on the app, then it can be used just like any standard alarm app.

The AlarMe app itself is extremely simple to use, has an intuitive and familiar interface thanks to the design methodologies used, and offers a fresh approach to the necessary business of waking up in the morning. Better still, it’s entirely free-of-charge to download and should function perfectly well on all Android devices running 2.2 and above.
